Welcome to Healing Reiki Studio
With our demanding lives, remembering to take time to relax is a challenge. For many of us, stress is experienced on a daily basis and when reaches a certain level, it can cause major damage to our health, relationships and quality of life. A little bit of a stress can actually be good to help people cope with time pressure or a long day at work for instance. However, the simple act of becoming relaxed can have surprising health benefits. New findings indicate that deep relaxation not only relieves stress and mental tension, but also – when practiced regularly – can strengthen the immune system and consequently produce other medically valuable physiological changes.
Reiki is a complementary health practice which can help induce a state of deep relaxation. It is a form of natural therapy; an ancient Japanese hands-on healing technique developed by the Buddhist Mikao Usui. The placement of the hands gently balances and recharges the body, triggering its natural healing ability. Reiki treats the whole person: body, emotion, mind and spirit.
Reiki treatment is not tied to any religious dogma. It can be practiced by or on anyone – children, adults, babies and elderly.
Reiki and Traditional Medicine – An integrated approach
The use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) alongside mainstream medicine has been trending upwards for some time. The practice of Reiki has been applied to ailments such as anxiety, fatigue, physical pain and depression
Reiki facilitates relaxation through controlled deep breathing, allowing the body to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. However, Reiki treatment should never replace conventional care; patients should always mention any complementary health treatment they are receiving to their health care provider.
